Quick silver giving false signals.
« on: January 28, 2013, 11:34 »
Got my battery problems sorted thanks to advice on this site and reading the instructions. :-[

The problem now seems to be getting false signals.

I will get a signal on a pass and then make sure I get multiple signals on subsequent passes and even check on 90 degrees to the original pass only to dig the plug and not get any more signals either in the plug or the hole.

Some targets will give only a signal on one direction and nothing on the 90 degree pass.

I will check all the dirt removed from the hole and find nothing either with my pin pointer or checking every little bit of the soil.

This has happened many times now and I am getting frustrated with my new detector and going back to my old beach comber.

Any ideas?

I only have 2 setting options.

Descrimination and depth.

I guess depth could work as sensitivity but i have this on middle setting and if I lower this setting, that will also limit my depth. Correct?

I am also wondering how I would get continuous targets in the same place if there is nothing there.

depth would be ur sensitivity im presuming as the deeper the machine goes the higher sensitivity if that makes sence try turning ur depth down a bit it could also be to types of soils ie minrilised and thats y you are getting the false signals
