Does anyone here have one of these and what are your thoughts and experiences? Would love to hear how it handles the surf especially.

A couple of people on here with much more experience than me have one , hopefully they will also answer . I have had mine for around 5 months finding 4 gold rings in a fairly low population area . I like it but only in low trash areas , it's a dig all machine in my opinion that will break your back in junky ground . I usually run mine at full power and have no trouble in the surf unless there is a concentration of black mineral sand there , turning down the gain soon deals with that . It goes deep , i have dug some seriously deep sinkers and ring pulls lately . Used beside an SDC last week and was not disgraced . I think good value for money with the proviso about junky ground .

I have had mine for about 6 months and all I can say is I love it.even though u can't tell on a screen what u are digging I can still tell if it is a good signal by the quick zip zip of the detector. ( if u know what I mean)this machine goes very deep and can hit a 20c piece at approx 15in if set up right.at $1100 dollars new I still believe it to be a great weapon of choice in the water.4 rings so far with the whites and can't wait till I get time off work after Christmas.

I have a DF myself, also an Excal 2. At my beaches, the DF has done well, I'm thinking about getting another PI and selling/trading the Excal.

I too have the DF, but I'm inquiring about the Surfmaster PI.

I have now decided to try and get one, I've put up an ad in the Classifieds section.
