The powder flask was under a tree and when I found it I was too busy thinking on it to remember I had dug another object first and had laid it at the base of the tree on the other side to pick up on my way out. Only remembered it last night when I was reflecting on the site and planning how to tackle it. Went back and quickly retrieved it, no time today to have a hunt around. Quite large and similar in material to the flask but I have no clue what it is, anyone any idea? I'll put it in the Tell Me What This Is column if no luck here. The back shows more detail at the moment uncleaned.
Thanks for any help.

I wish we had a chance to find Bronze axes, good to see flasks still being found. Anything interesting in the rocks?

The wotsit is quite soft and bendy, will give it a clean and present it better.
Starting to get quite a good collection of axes Rwork, a Bronze one would fit in nicely :)
The rocks are a couple of samples I grabbed to have a look at, haven't checked them out yet, but the area I took them from looks good.

edit: Add photo cleaned with Olive Oil

The better condition of this second flask compared to my first is obvious in this pic. Really pleased with it

I wonder if the nozzle measure was put onto a new base if the original cracked or was damaged. We see a few found but hardly ever with the top on them.

I was mindful of that and had a good rummage in the dig holes but there was no other parts in there.
Think you are right and the bulb part so to speak might have been disposable.

Here's an interesting vid that might explain why they are often split in two, bit of a safety measure.

Interesting clip. Reminded me of the bloke in Detectorist giving a lecture in the hall. I will have a closer look at the soldering if i find another flask. I won the Victorian Black powder championship for 50 meters many years ago, borrowed gear and found it very different from my usual A grade Free pistol event.

Reminded of the Post Office button I went back to that site today, found another 2 and a large button like object that is plain and heavy must have looked nice in it's day. Quite a lot of other bits including a strange object that looks like some kind of firearm shell, will post pics later in the hope Whitehunter or one of the other guys with knowledge in that field can help
edit: Unknown item was part of an old brolly.

Out for a quick lunchtime swing in Ballarat, found some 1910's era pennies and halfs but this nice collar badge put a smile on my kisser, has been "Broached" i.e. had the lugs removed and broach fittings added to make a sweetheart badge. 2nd RS collar I've found but first one that's been broached.

Nice find.  Not sure about sweetheart broach as some had those fittings and it could have also been a repair job.  Never less these are always great to find.

The little pins have what looks like an adjustable centrepin as the head has groves cut in like a screwhead. Everything else in this spot has been old e.g. numerous early N.S.W. military forces buttons, Chinese coins (3of) etc. It's right on old diggings, less than fifty feet away. Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Hard to tell, could be a pin out of a piece of farming equipment?

Don't know Dutchy, found about a half dozen of them.

Back to the spot where I found the first flask and found the missing top part of one half of it, lucky.

Also some other object I've no idea about, quite large.

A couple of nice finds. Don't forget we have a dedicated Token section. It used to be in with "Tell me what this is". No idea where it is now.

Quick hunt produced some spoons and bits and pieces, this head piece was by far the pick of the crop though, quite heavy and well detailed.
