G'day From Central Queensland I'm Clegy
« on: November 06, 2016, 19:14 »
My actual Name is Justin but many know me as Clegy.

I started detecting less than 2 years ago and Instantly became hooked.

A half penny in the backyard as my second ever target (First was a 10 cent) was the coin that started the crazy journey detecting has taken me on.

Since then I have actually made the hobby my Job mainly due to some circumstances that made it basically impossible to get a job doing anything I had experience in. An opportunity came up after wanting to buy an XP deus metal detector and I ended becoming the Australian Distributor.

I have been lucky to travel to Victoria, NSW and over Queensland on the hunt for coins, gold and sometimes even washers! Yep at an organised token hunt you would be surprised at the amount of gear dedicated to finding iron washers. Its very funny to be honest.

This forum was purchased by myself in September 2016 as the previous owner had some other things that required his attention and was unable to continue to support the forum. I wish him the best for the future and we still catch up from time to time. Thanks UB!

So Obviously I swing an XP Deus Metal detector and I mainly chase coins and relics, well coins really they just give me the biggest buzz. Even a 5 cent coin or one of those pesky 1 and 2 cent coins still make me happy.

I am starting to get into gold detecting a bit more and the whole history of the gold mining fascinates me. It leads to some good coin hunts too as sometime in gold country everyone forgets about the cool stuff that isn't nugget shaped. LOL

My Biggest Joy is talking about detecting and offering advice to people that are new to the hobby. I don't have all the answers thats for sure but I love to share what I do know and especially to talk to the experienced people and learn as much as I can.

Below are a couple of finds pics, not all one hunt but a build up over time.

Happy hunting and I look forward to seeing you around the forum

Sorry for over sharing.....

Clegy

You've certainly come a long way in just 2 years.

Can you imagine what you could achieve in the next 2.

Good luck with the Forum.  I regard this Forum as one of the best and its mods - both past and present - as pretty well being top class.

However, I do regret that some good members leave every now and then for whatever reason.  Hopefully they come back.

Thanks for the kind words, I really needed them this morning.

I am looking forward to the next 2 years like you wouldn't believe, It is the realisation of a dream I have had since I was 6 years old.

To be honest you ain't seen nothin yet....... LOL

Yes Members have left, but give them time and hopefully they will trickle back and say g'day.

Thanks again for the kind words.

Hello Clegy,
The reason for joining the awesome Australian Metal Detecting and Relic
Hunting Team, was so that I could make contact with one of your members who
had posted on the net that he had found my father's dog tag.

As I am not a relic hunter could you now remove my name and email address
from your list, as I received emails just recently and can't seem to find a way of deleting my name from the site.
Thank you
Bunny
