How's it hangin?
« on: November 08, 2016, 16:35 »
I am Greg from Newy, born and bred. Used my first detector as a kid, a tandy one, orange with just a tuning dial one side, and a volume the other. Then some 40 years later I buy an aldi, it had me hooked...upgraded to an ace 350, then a minelab 705, then a fors core. I never did master the fors, plus it was a little heavy. Clegy arrived on the scene...finally an opportunity to buy a Deus, and feel confident about the purchase. I love the Deus, 1.5 years I have owned 5 detectors, and the last 6 months with the XP. The hobby has supported itself, from finding goldies alone. But I hunt for the exercise, and for the many people have met, now call freinds. Quite a few of us organise group hunts, and welcome newbies, giving them hands on experience. Silver makes me happy, and I have a tupperware lunchbox filling nicely with them.

Some of my fav finds, the last one was a cache of 80 odd BBs, found at the base of a tree.

Welcome Rocketaroo.

If only those BB's were of the golden variety. Still a neat haul, I imagine a kid was saving them for retirement.
Were they inside anything or just loose?
That'll do, never does.

Very Active and helpful community of Detectorists in the newy area.
They have a ball down there and still manage to find tons of stuff between them.

You still going on about the Brownie cache!

Cheers Rocket
