Greetings
« on: December 02, 2016, 16:35 »
Hi, I'm Paul and I'm on the north side of Brisbane in the redcliffe area.
Bought myself a fisher F44 and pin pointer about 5 weeks ago, while I don't have a lot of free time I have been getting out with it when I can.
After digging up my back yard, I've bee mostly detecting  some beaches as it is clean and easy digging for a newbie.
I've found about $30 in change, a cheap gold bracelet, a toy car and a surprising amount of trash.... I managed to find my first non decimal last week a 1952 sixpence :)
There must be a few of you in this area as some of the beaches around here are completely free of any metal....
Some interesting reading here on the site, I was a bit in awe when I saw the * Our Oldest Forum Coin Find *   thread. great work guys.
I must admit, I'm a bit overwhelmed at the amount of signals in the ground at some places. so many and so close together, It almost seems unbelievable that there can be so much stuff in the ground.
Looking forward to finding some more treasure amongst it all  ;)

Big welcome to the forum mate and also to the Hobby/addiction.
Nice you have ticked a silver so early in the piece, some struggle for a long time to nail one of those coins. well done.
Brisbane has a reasonably busy detecting scene and I would be surprised if there is not at least 1 or 2 others hitting those beaches. But they always miss stuff so theres plenty of treasure to go around. You'll get to know the spots that pay off over time and where to spend time to get the most beer money.
Again welcome to the forum and I look forward to seeing some of your finds.
Thanks for introducing yourself.
