Just a quick hello to you all
My name is troy , i joined the forum earlier this year but couldn't find the intro thread
and have just seen this thread so thought i better say hello
Haven't been able to get out and do some metal detecting yet , hopefully that will change soon but so far i have enjoyed reading up on the info on the forum and what other people are finding.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy what little free time you have left to do other things. Once you become obsessed with metal detecting other little things like wives , kids and chores tend to get a little neglected.

Let us know when you start finding things Westoz1, a few goldies from the parks is a good start.

I have only tried my detector out in the back yard and real keen to use it down the beach
will post up any finds when i get the chance

School hols are a great time to look at the local school playing fields, don't jump fences.
Sand pits and play grounds, lunch areas under trees (best I ever found was a sand Volley ball court at a high school.)
Learn to pop coins rather than dig plugs, less hassle if/when you return.
