Whites XL Pro in Australia
« on: January 16, 2017, 13:59 »
Just wondering if anyone has a White's XL Pro, I've got one and it's a great machine. They sold for silly prices back in the early 2000's. Two thousand, so they didn't sell many at that price in Australia. I've never seen another machine so wondering if I'm the only one..

Just a few images for those who have not heard of the Xl Pro. If you remember the old blue box White's 6000d, then this is the end of the line for that series.   Interesting features are Hot Rock Reject, and TR Disc.. These machines have a good reputation in the USA, very flexible and capable. Same size box as MXT, same battery tray but machine is a bit heavier. Decent auto ground balance but it is not as good as MXT,  but it can be locked. The meter is very accurate, for those of us who DON"T always appreciate complex multi tone audio, it is a gift.. I like the MXT zip/grunt audio, simple and works a treat. That Xl Pro meter will rival modern digital machines for accuracy, learn it and it is worthy of my confidence. This machine may be a bit rare in Australia but it's a legend in the USA.

Hi Michael, your machines look to be in excellent condition, well looked after no doubt, never used a whites myself but there are members here that could contribute to your post, welcome by the way......cheers Colin.

Welcome Michael,
Nice looking machines mate. White's never really took off in Australia and its not because of a lack of performance.
They got Out Marketed is all.
Even Today White's are very quiet on the "making a noise" front here in Australia and because of poor history of sales they never seem to go hard at our Market.
I know a fair few Whites owners but I have to be honest I can't recall anyone having the XL Pro.
Great Pics mate thankyou.
