Whites MX Sport
« on: January 18, 2017, 10:43 »
I've been looking at their MX Sport at times but earlier/past owners and YouTube videos seem to suggest there have been many issues with this model.

Latest info/videos indicates these issues have been corrected, no doubt at a substantial cost to Whites.

Since there is no info from Oz users, it's another case of get one and find out for oneself.

Will be very interested in you impressions of the MX sport Ivan . It does appear that after a nasty teething period that Whites have the bugs sorted out .

First beach outing with a waterproof  MX Sport,
Anyone that recon a single frequency detector do not work on a salt water beach and in shallow water, have been misinformed.

There was no trouble in running the sensitivity at 8 on a wet beach this close to the water.
It was possible to run at 9, even at 10-Boost but it was taking it to the edge of stability, so left it at 8 with a little to spare for when needing to check on iffy signals or when in dry sand.
After retrieving the ring and checking the gold number content (375) the ring was placed on the beach again to check the display number since 45 it seemed a little high for a 9ct ring.
Got more surprises when checking the display numbers with other gold rings at home.
MX Sport is made in USA and therefore is calibrated to US coinage, so the writing below the target ID Number like "dime" "Nickel" and "Quarter" have no interest to me when this detector is used in Oz.
The screen will have another yellow sticker to the left of sticker 12 as one of my 18ct W/Band gold ring was only indicating 08 which is less than a 5¢ coin.
The MX Sport like some other well known detector brands have trouble displaying bottle caps outside our $ coin area.

After water hunting on a calm day, where/when  some detectors allow you to go a little deeper.
