Hello everyone , I'm not new to detecting but have had a few years off . I live in south western NSW on an old goldfield that wasn't worked very well . Thing is , supposedly little or no alluvial gold was ever found ( again , not well prospected ....supposedly ) .The gold was in the numerous reefs in the area . Why no alluvial ? So any tips on searching near reefs would be most welcomed . Looking forward to a fun exchange of stories and good old Aussie wit , cheers for now . ps can you tell where I live ....lol , Bobsuruncle !

G'day uncle bob , if there is a creek take some test pans, if you find gold keep following the creek up until the gold starts to became scarce. Start detecting in the area close to where you find gold in the pan. Also look for old diggings and detect these areas, that's about all the advice I can give you at the moment. Just get out and look because you won't find it if your not out there.
