Two mystery items from the deep.
« on: June 19, 2017, 07:31 »
Found in the water yesterday. Two mystery items. The one looks like some kind of handle but seems to have some sort of strainer type bits on each end. It's hollow. The other is socketed and is weighty for its size. Any ideas??

If you are looking for guesses then possibly from a sail powered craft or even an inflatable, especially if weight saving is an issue with the handle thing being hollow.

A big part of detecting is being in the right place - in your head and at the site.

Bottom 1 looks a bit like a cable terminal to be either swagged or soldered on

Unusual to be sure. Maybe the small holes were for sewing the handle onto material such as canvas..similar to button holes.
