Hello inmates!
I needed a new interest, so as soon as my mate bought a hobby farm near Mudgee (gold!) I bought a Garrett ATX to check it out.
That was 3 years ago and being a slacker I only recently got it fired up!  Lots of fencewire and .22 cases on those farms!
But now I've retired (retarded) I promise to be more productive with it.
I live on Manly beachside and since it's only 50M away it's likely will make beaches my first baby-steps.  I also dive and snorkel a bit and am a keen offroader (bikes and 4WDs)
If anyone is around this area or Mudgee I'm keen to learn the ropes from as many as I can.
Cheers!
Dave

Hello Dave,
Welcome. I am based in the Sydney area myself. I will PM you.
The beaches around Manly get hammered a lot; however, every time I go to them I still find plenty of modern coins and junk. Occasionally you find some old coins and the odd bit of jewellery.
While the beach hunting is quite different from the gold fields, they do help hone your swing ad target identification. The best part of beach hunting is the soft easy to dig sand.
Cheers
