Ballistic help.

Is this a bullet? Its made of lead, could that be rifling which can be seen faintly. 
Any info greatly appreciated.

Could be, looks suspiciously like something I've seen before, what's the diameter? Can you get an accurate measurement with verniers?

Looks very similar to an Enfield or Snider-Enfield round. It was .577 from memory.

I do believe it's a Minie Ball, pretty popular still today amongst the front stuffers (Muzzle Loaders)
