Sensational Brian, just sensational!

It's always frustrated me over the years how little information was publicly available on what was quite clearly an important part of Australian life over a large number of years.  It was why the cricket buckle thread was started on the Forum initially, to group some of them together and showcase the many varieties.

Your work has taken this to a completely new level, very professional in both layout and content. Do you have plans to approach a publisher and get it printed? I could honestly see it selling very well.

Wow, such a wonderful resource and an amazing labour of love! Superb Brian, superb.

This will keep you busy for years to come, as new designs and patterns will surface indefinitely. Exciting stuff.

Hopefully I can add to the resource down the track - I haven’t dug one yet!!

Brian - I am working on a blog post about this ... will be ready soon!
Good luck.

Cricket Buckles

Eight months ago Brian Meilak of Canberra in Australia decided to collect, from various sources, information on cricket buckles and create a book for himself.

I'm pleased to see that English detectorists have contributed quite a few examples for inclusion in the second volume. My blog has been updated to reflect this ... http://www.johnwinter.net/jw/2017/11/cricket-buckles/

I'm of the belief that the majority of all the cricket buckles produced were all made in the UK.
If I lived in the UK, I'd be spending a bit of time at the Nation Archives, looking through the records for cricket buckle designs :)
I've seen quite a few that have both been dug in the UK & Australia.
Ebay, yes, got that one, its 5.18.77 Cricket Rectangle Horizontal Vintage in the v1.
