The Joy of Text ... and the Equinox
« on: January 09, 2018, 11:08 »

Why did Minelab name their new machine EQUINOX? What has the name to do with a metal detector? Equinox comes from the Latin words aequi, which means 'equal', and nox, which means 'night'. Go figure!

Being another term for equinoctial point which is "either of two points at which the ecliptic cuts the celestial equator"

Perhaps they are referring to the coil....or the magnetic field?

Or....maybe....in line with the actual equinox, it will only appear twice a year?

Would have been clever to make it available from the actual equinox in March.....perhaps that will actually happen!
