finally bought a higher end detector (Excalibur II)
« on: January 14, 2018, 13:24 »
Well a bit disappointed with my self for putting off the purchase of a Minelab Excalibur for many years, finally got around to purchasing a once used one only a few months old of a gentleman. I got a bill of sale and have been in contact with minelab
to do the warranty transfer.

While I am very happy with transaction I was a little dismayed to fined all the S/N were stickers! a person using this a great deal in water would surely have them faded and warranty claims issues unlikely to go through if the stickers fell off or faded. Second was the bizzare shaft it came with-I was expecting that, and put it together as per factory make up-gawd how awkward! Anyhow was not a surprise-I ordered a two piece carbon shaft from Pluggers in the U.S yesterday.

I have one of those Ukraine stainless steel scoops with hex holes and purchased one of those green plastic 'Cyclone' shovels to make into a shovel scoop as seen by an experience beach detector on youtube. All up its been an outlay-but 'buy once-cry once' and just wanted to get all gear right and avoid re purchasing /modding gear.

Will take me a while to get it all together and in use -mainly due to a sudden health issue earlier in the week,I'll be out of commision for a bit. But will look forward to getting to beach.
