Ooops wrong spot, all new to this, detecting and forums. Anyway I got my new toy and found this in my yard, it appears to be green and gold also non magnetic? size approx 40 x 47 mm Cricket Buckle? any help in identifying it's origin and age would be appreciated.

It's amazing the amount of different buckles there are out there.   Here's one I found at Costerfield in Victoria a few years back.

Thanks for that - yes unfortunately the piece broke off when I was trying to straighten the buckle out.    It was originally found bent in half.

Hi been a while since posting, but finding a few goodies. Out with the 5000 and got a scream, kicked the leaves away and this buckle was was lying face down on the ground, picked it up and was a little gobsmacked how easy that was. It was late sunday evening just gone 17/11/2013. Beechworth area.

My brothers finds for the day a while back from the triangle, buckle and 7.5 grams from a little patch we found. I scored pretty well on the gold that day.

Cheers Hodgie

Two more superb examples - thanks Hodgie 8).

This thread comes up as the first listing when you search Google for "cricket buckles".   There's such a distinct lack of information on these unique pieces of history so it's great to see that this Forum is making quite a significant contribution.  I love looking through the 3 pages so far and look forward to seeing even more original examples.  Keep 'em coming ;D.
