Did a Power Board/Audio upgrade with parts kindly supplied by Nokta.

The upgrade made all my headphones compatible with the Gold Racer.

As said in an earlier post from the field where I could not use headphones and my last post, sometimes my earbuds/headphones would  not work with my Gold Racer.
There was no trouble if using the inbuilt speaker, but I prefer my earbuds.
Changing the Audio/Power board took care of the problem, it now have a steady threshold which is needed when Gold prospecting.

Hi, just wondering how your gold racer is going Ivanll?. I am thinking of purchasing one, but as I am a complete novice and know there are better detectors out there, but I don't want to outlay too much money to begin with. I don't want to purchase something that is difficult to use.  Wondering if you are happy with it? Have you had a chance to test it in a variety of soils?
Thanks K.

Gold Racer uses an operating frequency that make it very sensitive to small low conducting items like tiny Gold bits.
Heaps of other features including an informative screen make it multipurpose useful also as a coin detector.
It's very wide range of ground elimination, make it excellent for jewellery hunting on sandy beaches.
As for having better detectors out there kind of depends on what purpose this detector is intended for.
My Gold Racer have been and is used in all the above scenarios.

Thank you for your reply ivanll. When I said better, I should have said easier to use on hot ground.  I didn't word that very well.  The reviews have been mostly good. Glad you are happy with yours, K.

Had an early park hunt with the Gold Racer/10X5" Eccentric coil before going to the beach with a CZ20.

Moonlight early morning low tide beach hunting with the Gold Racer and a Scuba Tector ..... 3x Pandora Jewellery + handful of coins.

Adjustable screen backlight on the Gold Racer is a feature that came in very handy.

Very nice Ivan ! Good to see some finds with the G.R. . It's a very capable little machine i reckon , and has surprising depth , to me , for a high freq. machine . Were your finds from the dry sand or did you venture onto the wet ?

No dry sand detecting when it's low tide beyond a few swings and having the detector on when passing over dry sand on the way to the water edge.

Dark colour of coins is from grey lower level of  wet sand.

Funny I can,t communicate with people on any forum who are using Impact or Racer 2 on our Vic goldfields. Maybe the campfire is the way to go.

Can't help you with Nokta Impact or Makro Racer 2 as I do not have either.

Makro Red Racer + Gold Racer and Nokta Fors Gold + Au Gold Finder can be and is used in Tropical N.Q and WA for Gold prospecting with success.
