EZI scoop
« on: June 05, 2013, 20:14 »
Hi Forumites
I got to try my new beach accessory last week- the EZI scoop, produced in OZ by our member Pyrites Pete, with input from Ivanll and others.
At first sight , my initial thought was that it was gunna be too small BUT as I have been suffering from a chronic sore digging elbow/ shoulder of late anything smaller and lighter looked appealing.
A lot of my quick hunts are at dead low tide for an hour or so in the wet hard  sand and this scoop is PERFECT for this. The CTX has a very tight pinpointing function and a couple of scoops and I have got the target out and spread out on the sand. That can be 8 to 12 inches - no problem.

At $85 ( + $ 15/20 for postage) it is great value - well made & strong ( I was levering some big rocks, no problem) and includes the handle!
Contact Pyrites Pete for any updates & other products

The photos show a comparison with my other scoops, the big bloke is the SUPER SCOOP (was being sold on the forum a while back) it is my choice for IN the water.( I call it the whale shark  ::))

Hi Sweeper

Great looking scoop, is that a foot plate on the back for pushing in?

Bundy, its got a good plate with a non slip surface.
I hunt usually in bare feet ( nice & warm in qld) and its fine to step on.

It's light to carry and now my preferred digging tool/scoop for general beach hunting use.

It will also help the user to practice/perfect pinpointing, which can be a back saver...........less unnecessary digging.

Glad to see pyrites pete applied the none stick patch to the food plate, it make it easier to feel and steer the scoop when starting a dig on hard packed sand, works well in shallow water also where scoop might be out of sight.

First handle was Red, then Orange and now Yellow.

We might have to get together to see who wields the fastest Ezy Scoop on the beach.  :D

Looking back this little scoop seem to go pretty well, even if it was seen by "1" to be a reinvention.  :)

So far I have not detected a target that was to deep to retrieve the long handle is a blessing.
