Thanks Shane, good to meet up with other people with the same obsession, an all nighter with a block of red cans sounds mighty tempeting...

Hey Guys, really good fun to meet up and swap stories with bevvies.  Even learnt a few things, well maybe two.   ;)  It was cool to see the range of machines being used and some of the ideas.
Hope to bump into again sometime.  Shane, great idea for organising this, cheers!  Yeah a trip away could be interesting.
For anyone interested here is the Youtube of the detectorist I spoke of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-qHtws6NXc wearing a pair of shoes would be a good idea !! Enjoy.

Short recap from my faulty memory...
Roughly a dozen detectorists showed up, somehow some of their machines also made it.
Much talking and beeping took place. With a lot of interest being shown in the XP Deus (2 or 3 here).
Also about were Garrett`s Ace 250, AT Pro & ATX. Minelab`s X-Terra 305 & 705, Safari, SDC 2300 & CTX 3030.
Can`t remember any others (see first line of this post) sorry if I've left any out.
Pin pointers, how we setup our gear and operating methods were discussed. Some talk of locations detected and possible future sites. Tried to detect without lights 2 nights later and found it`s not for me at all.
Shane`s gang went detecting along the river bank and came back with 1 penny, 1 half penny a thruppence and some bottle caps.
Some beer was drunk at some stage of the day, Photos were take and all were on their way home by 3.30pm.
Was happy to see you all and hope to see you again at some time. FC.

I can`t remember, hopefully Shane or one of the others will recall, the bottle caps were Heinekin.
Hope to see you at the next meeting, whenever that will be.

How about Lilac hill park along the river there, i have found some nice relics and pre -dec's in the past should still be some more there.. i don't know if a crowd there will bring unwanted attention.. ;)  Jasmine

I'm good with that location, not much detecting done last time, mostly drinking, stories, hints, tips and detector demos but we all had a great time.

Last time we weren't actually detecting as I said, sarrix, digs4tresh and myself were really the only ones that had a swing after a while. But since you say that I'll try and pull something out of there at the meeting

Well would be nice if everyone who is thinking of going to put it their suggestion for a spot. We then  have a selection  and can choose the best spot.
