Did a Power Board/Audio upgrade with parts kindly supplied by Nokta.

The upgrade made all my headphones compatible with the Gold Racer.

As said in an earlier post from the field where I could not use headphones and my last post, sometimes my earbuds/headphones would  not work with my Gold Racer.
There was no trouble if using the inbuilt speaker, but I prefer my earbuds.
Changing the Audio/Power board took care of the problem, it now have a steady threshold which is needed when Gold prospecting.

Hi, just wondering how your gold racer is going Ivanll?. I am thinking of purchasing one, but as I am a complete novice and know there are better detectors out there, but I don't want to outlay too much money to begin with. I don't want to purchase something that is difficult to use.  Wondering if you are happy with it? Have you had a chance to test it in a variety of soils?
Thanks K.

Gold Racer uses an operating frequency that make it very sensitive to small low conducting items like tiny Gold bits.
Heaps of other features including an informative screen make it multipurpose useful also as a coin detector.
It's very wide range of ground elimination, make it excellent for jewellery hunting on sandy beaches.
As for having better detectors out there kind of depends on what purpose this detector is intended for.
My Gold Racer have been and is used in all the above scenarios.

Thank you for your reply ivanll. When I said better, I should have said easier to use on hot ground.  I didn't word that very well.  The reviews have been mostly good. Glad you are happy with yours, K.

Had an early park hunt with the Gold Racer/10X5" Eccentric coil before going to the beach with a CZ20.
