Quick fix rest
« on: March 06, 2016, 18:57 »
Have seen a couple of home made and one commercial solution for the problem of the S shaft unbalancing the detector at rest.
My solution is quick and cheap and adds no weight. 25mm of 90mm water pipe and 2 zip ties, pics should explain everything.
Took 5 min to cut and put together, haven't cleaned or trimmed to show details.

I wonder if it would be an improvement if the bottom of the loop was flat. A hairdryer or heatgun would make it soft enough to flatten. I had a stand on my 5000 but removed it due to getting caught in scrub.

You could slit the pipe into a C shape as well. Heavier sewer pipe could be used also.
This was fast and cheap and effective.
