XP Deus Programs and settings.
« on: March 12, 2016, 14:41 »
Hi All.
I have recently added a Deus to my detecting kit. I was after some information on which programs and settings people have found work in Australian conditions. I have been using a few of the popular UK based programs, ( HF DEEP,  Deusfast, GM power etc)  and adjusting settings in them. On the beach I have used Beachgold which is a modified  Goldfield program.
I like using full tones in cleaner sites but it's  a bit overwhelming I trashy places.
Thanks for any input.

I run the HOT Program as my starter and end up with a very similar set to the one above on most occasions.
Sometimes I need to up the discrim to as high as 5 in High Mineral and high iron infested sites. (at the same time I mean)
Mineral bar goes between half full and full.

Been doing a lot around old gold town area's lately and the feedback can be killer so I need to calm the thing down a little.
Also notching 98-99 and 01-09 helps kill off the iron altogether and can stop those damn round iron objects acting like deep pennies. Because of the round shape the change of angle often doesn't work, it usually does when the object is anything but circular, so I have a nice collection of round iron object I dug expecting coins or at least buttons.
FULL Tones is all I use in every program, my firm belief is that if you learn full tones you will get the most from the Deus and be able to take advantage of the speed. Sometimes the double blip is not a shallow target but 2 targets, Full tones will separate them in most cases and you can tell a 10 cent coin from a pulltab with 80%+ accuracy.
One rings up at 64 one at 65 (on 18khz) but full tones will separate them!
Thanks for the share Ray, On low power settings you'll get 15 odd hours easy out of a full charge on the coil.

Is it ok to play around with the remote and settings if it's nowhere near the coil or should it be attached or close to the coil ???

Don't know, seem to remember it try's to pair up with a coil and wouldn't do anything without it.
Just a vague memory though, not definite.

Well I found out a couple of things, you can change some settings and save them ;D  but you can't play around with the frequencies ::) coz they're set in the coil, duh
