These blokes were asked for $900,000 by the Victorian goverment to cover grass removal. They picked a block without trees because of the problems others had previously.
Now it is because of a potentional that one day a rare orchard May have grown on the block. I think the closest sighting is a few Km away.

I know that area pretty well , it has been grazed by sheep for ever , and it is badly eroded with virtually no topsoil , how on earth a rare Orchid in the Paddys Ranges Park , many Kms away , be possibly there , or get there  ! The Victorian State Labour Government just making excuses not to encourage mining , using any excuse they can think to discourage or delay through VCAT .

My answer would be start a bloody turf farm, there's your grass petty pollies and you can flog the stuff off every few months to cover the costs. If it looses money then at least it minimises the Tax loss on the gold finding.

A ridiculous rule requires a ridiculous solution.
