Thanks Ramjet.
Back in August, after the massive storms,  there was some publicity for "The Treasure Hunters Recovery" team in the Gosford newspaper. The founding member has a facebook page but there is not much action. They seem to be around Umina, Ettalong and Woy Woy and primarily work the beaches. About 6 people were involved. I don't think any forum members are involved but I could be wrong.

Yes I saw that newspaper article. Actually I am in the pics and the other guys were from as far as Sydney and another from Newy.  LOL. I think it is generally a service  that most people are not aware of. I actually have a FB page for Newcastle but it has had very little action. It's all about advertising I guess.

Thanks for the added information. Marketing a rescue service like this is difficult despite all the good intentions. Even keeping up to date is not easy. Hopefully, now we have a specific spot on this website we can use this resource to promote the service.
Can the "Subject" be expanded to expanded to identify the "rescue" service. Personally I would not like to see the word "treasure" anywhere near the heading as I think that would deter genuine people seeking our help.

Most times ive just been approached while im swinging...
Had a gent from overseas come up to me while i was swinging near terrigal,
Offered cash if i found it..asked him to grid areas where he thought he lost it...he only knew of us doing it because he spoke to the lifesavers..
Needless to say was found inside 10mins and i was 100 bucks better off.
The ring was worth a lot more then a green back he gave me...
He rang his wife on the spot because he had a bet with her on finding it.
