xp deus v4 is snappy & has some new toys
« on: March 23, 2017, 02:39 »
hi all
got to give the new v4 a run here in the states & i think it hits harder & deeper on coins ;D
the exciting thing is the goldfield program has a new toy .. threshold .... this will help a bunch in looking for nuggets .
i used it yesterday with the standard 9 inch coil in a well worked goldfield here in Arizona US & i was impressed..lots of small lead that i missed but no gold..

with the new hf coil at 81 khz it should be killer on small gold ...

also it seemed like it handled the ground better than the 3.2.  i used tracking & manual
lots of new toys in the v4 update i like it ...
updating was a breeze..
good hunting all

I hope you get some gold Walt. We have a 2300 for our club loan machine but it would be nice to have something with discrimination. I found four nuggets on Sunday and probably walked away from more thinking they were trash. I invited the forum owner to bring his Machine with the upgraded program but he went to Ballarat instead.

What is the average gold content of nuggets in your area Walt. Looks silvery.

I'm keen to know how it goes for you Matt, hopefully you won't get so many hot rocks ay. Let me know how it went once you tested it out, I might get another detector this year but it's a toss up, I'm leaning towards the AT gold but I'm in no hurry

I updated to V4 yesterday and went out for swing. One strange thing I noticed is that the headphones now take a long time to initialise/pair. 20+ seconds before I get any audio through them. Not a big deal. Is it just me?
Besides this I'm happy with the upgrade. The RC seems more responsive/faster than previously, eg switching between programs.
I have only used the new built in Hot program. Managed $70 in change and a couple of pennies.

Headphones have a 30 sec delay before they take over after you turn the remote off. Turn headphones off first or you may get caught with a flat battery if you look at the headphone screen inside 30 secs and see a blank screen then put them away thinking they are turned off.

Yes I have noticed a tiny bit of delay syncing up, may be scanning the new frequencies ?
