Now we need the Ironbark Forrest at Chiltern Vic to do the same ... Gold was mined at the area over 150 years ago and to have it locked up is pathetic!!!!  Maybe we need a protest with 300 Taxi drivers and the yellow cabs to go with them ..   Lex

Hey, lex.

Mate & I had a bit of a look in the Chiltern  Forest back in the mid 70's. (both lived in Wodonga then)

Pretty hopeless though......a Whites 6000D, & a whites 6DB, & not having a clue where to even start!     ;D

If I can't handle it, I'll go & have a few beers, or a red wine....or both.... & go from there!

Have a brother on Chiltern, he quite often sees Detectorists in the Forest when he's dog walking, since neither activity is desirable from a Parks point of view they just turn a blind eye to each other ::)

When I lived in Wangaratta, Chiltern provided a number of nice goldfield relic finds (1995-97) before they closed it off.
