Havent figured out how to pm yet... I have a fairly large older machine here.
Drum/s need to be 8" and the rollers are about 2 ft long. Runs a 24v 1/4hp motor and fairly quiet. I dont have a propper drum for it had just been using biscuit tins.
Where abouts are you located?
I am driving north from tassie monday... Looking out for a cheapish detector on my way... can pm me with phone number or something if still looking and it might suit needs. Cash your way for a beginners nugget hunting device? Or make an offer.
The thing about redistributions on you profile made me reply :p

Sorry only just seen this.
Sounds like it might be a bit too big for me .. looking for something a bit smaller.
Thanks for your offer.

Hi Meggie,
Have you had a look at the Lortone brand of tumbler?
I was fortunate to have one bought for me at Christmas by SWMBO so no idea of the price but it is well designed and manufactured. Mines a 3A model
http://www.lortone.com/tumblers.html
NB a quick look on fleabay and they appear to be around the $160 mark.

Lortone has been around for years , quite strong , I used to use 1 for polishing quartz when i worked on a tin mine up north , I now use 1 for my decimal coins , there  are  single barrel & a twin barrel versions  , Gazza .
