Bob, you can send to minelab in SA for repair. Or if you describe the symptoms you're experiencing, someone on here may be able to provide some suggestions.

Recently I sent my Excalibur in for repairs, it had stopped working.. I hadn't heard anything for 3 weeks and the dealer suggested I was better off ringing Minelab directly.
When I finally got on to their service, I was unceremoniously told they would not attempt to repair it as it' had modified.
I offered to waiver them of any liability, and was still met with a flat refusal.
Gutted as I was, I accept their position.  I just flabbergasted it took as long as it did and my chasing it down, to get the state of play.
IM sure they do quality work, but anyone out there needs to be aware of these aspects of their buisness

I feel for you, proj, but I can understand their reasoning.

Have a talk with Anger Management. Maybe he can help.

CP...  Am aware of the issue and working with Projeanant to get a good outcome.

And while I can understand that ML take a hard line with ANY system that may have been modified or had a PinPoint switch put in or even a Hardwired  non standard Coil...

The fact that their Communications can often be non existent / NO spare parts and that is even for the most basic user replacement items -  Is the biggest issue I have with ML...  And a FEW parts are ONLY available to ML...  World Wide issue for a few items.

And post warranty, who wants to pay $350 for new stock headphones fitted   OR   $450 plus for a new coil fitted.

$90 for an empty pod or $180 for a new Battery and Pod....  $1100 plus for a new board....

AND no, you will not force me to buy a NEW Excal..... BUT that will also mean ML will not repair if the system is not stock standard...

PS.  I understand  NO replacement for the EXCAL in the foreseeable future -  One must do what one can; to keep older units running...

Now man up! ;D

To me that's just bad form.  If you are willing to pay and willing to provide a waiver there should be no reason not to provide a service.  At least repair the unit and restore back to factory parts if necessary.  But to outright refuse to help doesn't instil any customer confidence.  (and I have also personally experienced the 'slow' service, plus they lost my unit for over a week somewhere in their factory/repair centre after it was supposedly already shipped back to me)
