New Toy
« on: June 03, 2017, 21:55 »
I've been long pondering the use of a drone for use during detecting. I finally pulled the trigger yesterday and I've been having a ball ever since. As an absolute novice I've only been using the basic settings, but it already has taken some great pics. attached is a well kn own Canberra house site, but you clearly see the building footings. Plus a couple of pics from 100m up. Once I figure out how to edit I'll post a few vids as well

That is awesome.  Will be handy scoping out sites.  Just watch out for eagles, they have been bringing down drones quite a bit of late.

I wouldnt be posting how high you went up , they can get you on that
https://www.rpastraining.com.au/casr-101-uav-drone-legal-or-illegal
As far as Eagles go I had 2 of them circling my P4 a while back , fearing that they would go the P4
I changed to sports mode and decided to go at them , they left me alone after that and we have an understanding between us now
as I can fly with them without them going me anymore
Cheers Marty

Thanks for that Marty. I had been looking for a website with info, but I hadn't found anything reliable yet. I'll set it at a 120m ceiling.

I know absolutely nothing about Drones, but was in JB HIFI today and saw some advertising for the new Parrot Disco Drone with the immersive first person view.   WOW, it's just like flying.  I just could be hooked  ;D.
