WA trip
« on: June 16, 2017, 20:17 »
Thought I'd post pics of some of the gold I've found. 2 of the speccies are in acid to clean up a bit.  None of the speccies had an oz of gold it would seem but until i crush i won't know for sure.

A balmy 5 deg !!  Just keep taking the medication Ant  ::)   , I am still not running on all cylinders at the moment but I look around and thank my blessings that we do live here in Utopia ....    On a different note a few people that I know are over in the West on walkabout not setting the world on fire BUT are finding gold most days... Keep up the work all that are posting on the forum it keeps me fired up for when I can get back in action ... A special thank you to Shane with his gold pics and reports ..Also I thought that I saw K.G.1 on the news tonight but alas it was just a couple of Whales checking on their Gold deposits in Port Phillip Bay..... Keep warm fellow prospecters and I hope to catch up with you all in the near future.. Lex

Thanks for comments guys

The pics of single Speccies are of the ones in acid.  The gold will become clearer and I'll  post them again.
I still have 4 weeks or so detecting left in WA. Under the terms of the permission we have in Kal i can not show nor describe the gold we find there. Seems over the top but that's tne way it is.  If we end up on pending leases I'll  post more pics of other gold.

Don't forget to send me some full sized pictures when you are able to. Did you get the WA newsletter, i wasn't sure if you receive it direct. The speccy's look fairly rich, were they down deep?

Rwork - yes thanks. Yes i do get it direct. I applied for the 40e online. So much easier than before but you still have to get signatures and scan them into a  word document to send off.  Approval came in days not weeks.

The 2 speccies had specific gravity of 18g and 21g for the gold.  (Still searching for my 1st true oz of gold.)  They were 4 or 5 inches down only.  I ended up with more speccies than ever before. 6 were sunbakers. 1 little nuggie also sunbaking in a different area.  Very very lucky.

Spelling varies but basically a rock containing gold rather than a nugget with rock in it.

It would be interesting to put a multimeter on the larger bits of gold and see if they are connected.
I would melt the rock and Barney would most likely crush it.

Don't crush all of them Dan - keep the best one for show and tell - they are getting harder to find every day now.

Cheers - Barney.
