Tell us a little about your Nickname?
« on: February 22, 2012, 17:02 »
Hi Everyone,

Not Sure if anyone has started a post like this but I thought I'd bring up some conversation about how and or why did you chose the Nickname\Alias you're using?

I'm sure they'd be alot of interested members out there?

I'll Start!

Ecto1 is the name given to the white Hertz vehicle in the movies Ghostbusters 1,2.  I am a HUGE fan of these movies and especially the a big fan of Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis.

I actually had NSW plates ECTO 1 but it got to expensive to maintain.

Anyway I look forward to other members contributions.

Ciao

Interesting thread idea Ecto.

As for me, I dive a lot and also like detecting on the beach and along the river. So most of the time I have wet feet  ;D

Mine is easy... my first detector was a Gold Snoop Pro - hence Snoopy. 36 is my favourite number... don't know why. Maybe I won enough on the roulette in my younger years betting on 36 red :)

great idea. Mine has nothing to do with detecting and everything to do with hunting. ;)
I own a PSE Bowmadness compound bow.  :)
hence PsePete. Peter being my real name.

Mine's one I used to use on a fishing Forum and just carried it over.

As a kid I went on a yearly family fishing holiday to Coffin Bay SA for the beach fishing - specifically targeting Australian Salmon aka Sambo's.  Still get back there every now and again - love the place.

Before the internet I ran a BBS (bulletin board system) a really small version of the WWW but used direct dial up connections.

Someone uploaded something called a divx movie one day.  I was told it was a full movie and it was 700meg in size!! which blew my mind, this was unheard of around that time.

The name of the movie was "The Matrix".  I swear I watched that movie 100 times!  So thats where the "Neo" comes from.

81 is when I was born.

and the xxx's are from other people around the world using neo81, I started adding x's.

I go fishing for things in the ground and just like catching fish in the water you never know if or what you will actually get plus as time goes on and you learn more about it you have more chance of pulling up what you are after.

My nic name came about from my name Jean, but my friends used to call me jeannie. And i seem to spend alot of time wishing to find more gold, so that's how it was chosen. I was going to choose "golden rainbow" , because when i was a kid, my father used to tell me there was a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. And when i go out detecting and see a rainbow, i always find gold within 2 days of seeing it. I feel my father is watching over me. :) So would anyone like me to grant them a wish ;D ;D ;D

My Nick was given to me when I started my apprenticeship as a panelbeater. Pretty much I was good with tools and could fix anything and fast. That was around 9 years ago and the name still sticks today.

Well I have only been on the forums for a few years. Being a newbie I went and made a long user name and I figured that people would not want to type it. So when I decided to change it I could not get creative. I was on the Minelab Owners forum and the SE Pro was my first real detector that just happened be on the table in front of me. I looked and saw the “IRON MASK” Button and the rest is history.
Cool thread I may add.
