Just curious when you touch the ground with the coil does the 600 or 800 make a gong sound ?

Hi thanks for your reply , yes some other brands I've tried have given a low gong sound when touching the ground indicating IRON on the VDI, you can sometimes mask it by blanking the lower segments in the iron area of the VDI, most people always have those IRON segments blanked and never hear the IRON gong

When in all-metal the nox gives off a low tone that could be described as a ‘gong’. In any of the modes of the Equinox, iron is masked and no sound is heard. There re exceptions but that is the general rule. When a target has a ferrous component or there is oxidation around it, you may get a tone and a TID around 39/40.  When I use my E-Trac ferrous targets cause a ‘blanking’ in the threshold hum. I think I have explained this correctly but there are more learned members here who may be able to answer your query more definitively.
